The FYAO Organization
The FYAO is a not for profit organization, operating under the requirements of a 501(c)3. The FYAO is supported by membership tuition, grants and private and corporate donations. The University of Central Florida (UCF) partners with the FYAO in providing a place to call home, rehearsal space and other means of support. To operate smoothly, the FYAO consist of our Board of Directors, our paid staff for both artistic and executive direction, and our various operating committees and volunteers.
The Board of Directors
The FYAO is governed by a Board of Directors elected from among Participating Members (parents or legal guardians of the Performing Members) and Supporting Members. Each member of the Board is elected for a term of two (2) calendar years, with one-half of the board turning over each year. Nonvoting Advisory Members may be appointed to the Board as appropriate. All financial operations of the FYAO are closely monitored by the Board. Please refer to the Bylaws (available through the office) for specific information about the Board, its structure and responsibilities.
Please extend a warm welcome to the Board of Directors for the 2006/2007 Season!

Committees and Volunteers
The Florida Young Artists Orchestra could not operate effectively without our committees and their volunteers. Our committees provide the management structure through which many of the task required to run the orchestra are carried out. Committees may change somewhat from year to year, based on the needs of the orchestra. In general, the following committees are in operation:
- Marketing Committee
- Fundraising Committee
- Concerts and Performances Committee
- Music Operations Committee
- Chamber Ensemble Program Committee
- Hospitality Committee
- Summer Orchestra Camp Committee
- Trip Committee
Should you be interested in volunteering to support any of these committees, please visit our volunteering page in the membership section. |
